CAT sells another ISP stake

27 Jul 2009

Thai state-owned telco CAT Telecom has agreed to sell a 32% stake in Jasmine Internet (Ji-Net) to the ISP’s majority owner Jasmine International for just THB5.8 million (USD173,000). Jasmine, the parent of telcos TT&T and Triple T Broadband, already owned 65% in Ji-Net. The announcement followed CAT’s cut-price sale of a 32% stake in another well-known Thai ISP, KSC, with majority controller True Corp upping its ownership to close to 100%. CAT is aiming to dispose of its minority stakes in around ten other ISPs.
