Canadian mobile start-up Globalive Wireless has awarded Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) a turnkey contract to build a 3G network based on W-CDMA/HSPA technology. NSN will provide a range of services including turnkey site acquisition and construction, network integration and implementation, optimisation and managed services. Hardware and software for the new system will include NSN’s LTE-compliant Flexi Multimode Base Station, Radio Network Controller, and Network Management and Service Assurance Operating Support Systems. Globalive, which is backed by Egypt’s Orascom Telecom, is one of four Canadian wireless companies using NSN’s products and services.
