Eurocom joins bid for Eircom, paper says

29 Jun 2009

The Sunday Times reports that Israeli telecoms investment group Eurocom Communications is looking to join a bid to acquire former monopoly operator Eircom. The paper does not say where it received the information but notes that

Eurocom is a minority holder in the group bidding for Dublin-based Eircom.

On 26 June Eircom Holdings Ltd, which controls Eircom, said it had received a takeover proposal from Singapore Technologies Telemedia (STT). However, in a filing to the stock exchange, the company said the offer did not have the support of the Eircom board and was ‘incomplete’.
