Zain Group is reported to be looking to sell its African unit, Celtel International, according to Kuwaiti newspaper Al Qabas. Speculation suggests Zain has been approached with a USD12 billion deal to sell Celtel to an unnamed French company. Celtel International comprises mobile operations in 13 countries, including Nigeria and Kenya. Zain will reportedly review its options if the current deal falls through, having also received inquiries from firms in India and China.
