MTN’s Ghana unit launches mobile TV

MTN Ghana has launched a mobile TV service in collaboration with local pay-TV provider DSTV and Nokia. The new DSTV mobile TV services promises MTN subscribers in Accra and Tema a bouquet of eleven channels including Africa Magic, Super Sport, Cartoon Network, BBC and CNN. Local paper the Daily Guide, says the operator intends to continue expanding the reach of the mobile TV service and will allow subscribers to watch matches from the 2010 World Cup next year. Commenting on the launch, the chief marketing officer of MTN, George Andah, said that MTN was committed to serving the needs of its subscribers regardless of their location.
