BH Telecom implements NSN switching solution

21 May 2009

Bosnia Herzegovina’s largest fixed line, wireless and broadband operator BH Telecom has implemented switching and broadband access solutions from Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) as part of plans to optimise its legacy assets and enable the delivery of triple-play services across its entire network. Under an agreement between the two companies NSN is providing a softswitch (hiE9200), Media Gateway and Multi Service Access Nodes (MSAN); the vendor will also provide a network management system and take responsibility for the implementation and software maintenance of the project. ‘We have commenced our evolution to a next generation network in the best possible way – offering advanced end-user services without disrupting our current voice business. NSN’s solution enables us to keep pace with industry standards while keeping our network simple and operating expenses in check,’ said Nedzad Residbegovic, general manager of BH Telecom.
