Orange expands WiMAX to north

Orange Cameroun is expanding its WiMAX network to the northern cities of Garoua, Maroua and Kousseri, according to internet news website CameroonOnline. The new networks will be inaugurated on different days this week in each city, with other towns in the northern region to follow in the future. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, the company launched its Livebox gateway for WiMAX internet access in April 2008 and has since expanded the service to the central and southern cities of Douala, Yaounda, Bertoua, Bamenda, Bafoussam and Limbe.
