Huawei, Globe deploy 2.5GHz WiMAX network

Chinese telecoms manufacturer Huawei Technologies today announced the successful deployment of a commercial WiMAX network in the 2.5GHz frequency band for Globe Telecom, the first operator in the Philippines to launch a full-blown WiMAX broadband service nationwide. Huawei supplied an end-to-end WiMAX platform, enabling the operator to deploy the network quickly, as a result of which, Globe Telecom’s subscribers can enjoy access to high speed wireless broadband and high-quality VoIP services.
