Nigerian CDMA operator Starcomms has selected Israel-based FTS’s Leap Interconnect solution to support its growing subscriber base and ensure accuracy of its growing interconnect revenues. Hashem Sallam, billing manager of Starcomms, said: ‘As we expand the reach of our network and services, and our subscriber base continues to grow, our interconnect services have become a major revenue stream. Leap Interconnect provides us with all of the billing capabilities that we need as we continue to expand, and we are pleased to be working with a trusted vendor like FTS to ensure the accuracy of our interconnect accounting.’ According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Starcomms had a wireless subscriber base of 1.16 million at the end of 2008, representing a market share of 1.89%.
