Telenor Pakistan grabs USF funding

According to Pakistan’s Daily Time, Telenor Pakistan and the Universal Service Fund (USF) have signed a contract worth MYR930 million (USD251.9 million) that will see the former provide basic telephone services in rural regions. The agreement will see Telenor roll out both telephony and data services in the currently unserved areas of Sanghar, Tharparkar Umerkot and Mirpur Khas districts. This is the second contract between Telenor and the USF, having previously signed a similar deal for the Malakand and Bahawalpur regions.
