Maroc Telecom snaps up 51% of Sotelma

Maroc Telecom has revealed that it has acquired a 51% stake in Malian national telco Sotelma in a deal worth EUR252 million (USD319.3 million). The Moroccan telco outbid Sudatel, which offered EUR110 million, and Portugal Telecom (EUR80 million). The Malian government will hold 20% of the operator.
