Maroc Telecom net profit up 23%

Morocco-based fixed, mobile and broadband group Maroc Telecom has reported a rise of 23% in annual consolidated net income for 2008 to MAD10.01 billion (USD1.31 billion), whilst group operating income climbed by 13.5% to MAD13.9 billion, on revenues that increased by 7.2% to MAD29.5 billion. Annual net profit attributable to equity holders of the parent group rose by 18.5% to MAD9.5 billion (USD1.2 billion). The announcement follows last month’s operational statistical report, showing that growth was driven mainly by domestic and international mobile businesses.
