10 Feb 2009

Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko yesterday held a meeting with the speaker of Norway’s parliament, Thorbjorn Jagland, in which she proposed that Norwegian telecoms firm Telenor bid in a planned tender for national state-run telco Ukrtelecom, writes the Kyiv Post. As reported last week in CommsUpdate, Ukraine’s State Property Fund intends to launch a tender for a majority stake in Ukrtelecom in March, with Russian cellco MTS having already expressed its interest.
