Vodafone CR breaks 400,000 mobile internet subs barrier

2 Feb 2009

Vodafone’s Czech mobile unit has broken the 400,000 subscriber barrier for mobile internet subscribers, while the total volume of data downloads to cellphones has quadrupled since the third quarter of 2008. According to Telecompaper, one in seven of Vodafone CR’s customer base has now registered to use its mobile broadband service, and of these, around half are regularly accessing the internet four or five days a week, with an average visit of 16 pages viewed per day. To capitalise on the surge in popularity of its service, Vodafone CR is extending a ‘free internet’ Christmas promotion until end-February.
