Serbia to offer second fixed line concession by end-2009

20 Jan 2009

According to Limun.hr a new fixed line licence will be offered in the Republic of Serbia during the first half of 2009. Minister of Telecommunications and Information Society, Jasna Matic, revealed the plans for the new operator. The minister also noted that the framework for the liberalisation of the telecoms market is being prepared, and it is expected that tenders will be invited in the second quarter of 2009. The announcement follows the revelation by Ms Matic in October 2008 that the state was preparing to open the fixed line market by the end of 2009, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
