PTK celebrates successful 2008

Kosovo’s Post and Telecommunication Holding (PTK) has declared 2008 a successful year, having almost completed phase five of its wireless network rollout which when complete will increase capacity on its Vala network to 1.9 million and raise coverage to 90% of the population. At the end of December Vala claimed 886,000 customers, of which 36,000 were post-paid. In the fixed line arena PTK completed migration to a next generation network (NGN) and launched an ADSL service, which had attracted 21,000 users by the end of the year. PTK recorded revenues of EUR172.11 million (USD232 million) in 2008, down 5.7% on the previous year.
