Videotron expands Ultimate service

9 Jan 2009

Quebec-based cableco Videotron has expanded its top-end ‘Ultimate Speed’ internet services to the Montreal South Shore area, making download speeds of up to 50Mbps available to 377,000 additional households via DOCSIS 3.0 technology, the operator said in a statement. Videotron has also doubled monthly data transfer limits to 70GB for Ultimate Speed Internet 30 and 100GB for Ultimate Speed Internet 50. In February 2008 Videotron launched the two residential high speed packages in Laval, Quebec, and announced plans to gradually make the new speeds available across the rest of the province. Ultimate Speed Internet 30 and Ultimate Speed Internet 50 cost CAD64.95 (USD54.40) and CAD79.95 per month respectively, on a twelve-month contract.
