Strong 2008 for Telekom Srpske; 3G and IPTV to launch in 2009

8 Jan 2009

Telekom Srpske has experienced its most successful year since privatisation, Limun.hr reports, citing comments from the operator’s CEO Predrag Culibrk. The telco reportedly closed 2008 with 1.1 million wireless subscribers, and has estimated that profit for the year was up 50% against the previous twelve-month period. Telekom Srpske has also announced it plans to introduce both 3G and IPTV services by the end of 2009. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Telekom Srpske’s mobile division, known as m:tel, was the second largest operator by subscribers at the end of September 2008 with 36% of the market; sector leader BH Telecom had 42% at that same date.
