PT regulations relaxed

9 Dec 2008

Portugal’s telecoms regulator Anacom is to relax a number of regulatory requirements currently placed on dominant fixed line operator Portugal Telecom (PT). The regulator says the rule changes will only affect regions of the country where there is strong competition in the wireline market, mainly larger urban areas such as Lisbon and Porto. The regulator’s decision will free PT from a number of obligations in the wholesale and retail markets.
