BH Telecom supervisory board elected, shareholders voice disagreement

4 Dec 2008

According to Limun.hr, a supervisory board has finally been elected at Bosnian telco BH Telecom. The announcement comes after months of delays and conflicts regarding the appointment of a final board member, yet despite the news further disputes look set to arise. Following a general shareholders meeting the company announced that Samir Causevic had been elected chairman, with Sead Gusmirovic as deputy. Five other members were elected, including Nihad Imamovic, whose appointment is the cause of dispute with minority shareholders in the telco. After the announcement a representative for small shareholders in BH Telecom said they would sue the company, claiming Imamovic was elected as the shareholder representative on the votes of state representatives, rather than elected by shareholders themselves. The president of BH Telecom’s union has stated that it may not offer support to the legal action.
