MADA plans year-end WiMAX launch

27 Nov 2008

Jordanian WiMAX licensee MADA has announced that it expects to launch WiMAX-based services at the end of the year. Motorola began deployment of a wireless broadband 802.16e network in September over which MADA will deliver fixed and nomadic voice and data services to residential and enterprise customers. In addition, Motorola has designed a wholesale model, enabling MADA to offer WiMAX services to other ISPs in Jordan. Ali Amer, vice president of sales, Middle East, Africa and Pakistan, Motorola Home & Networks Mobility, said: ’Motorola’s WiMAX solution will bring one big, never-ending hot spot to Jordan, accelerating the delivery of personal media experiences to MADA’s customers, whether they are at home, in the office or on the move. Today’s announcement further solidifies Motorola’s global WiMAX leadership position.’
