Alca-Lu signs deal with EMTS for wireless network

Alcatel-Lucent has revealed that it has signed a deal with Emerging Market Telecom Services (EMTS) for the deployment of turnkey, nationwide GSM/EDGE/W-CDMA/HSPA network in the western region of Nigeria, including Lagos. The vendor will provide network deployment and integration services, as well as related infrastructure such as towers, masts and power systems, to EMTS, a venture between Etisalat and Mubadal Development Company. No financial details were disclosed, other than that the deal is a ‘multi-million Euro contract’.
