TOT targets a million ADSL customers

14 Nov 2008

TOT expects its broadband internet customer base to reach a million by the end of next year from the 650,000 currently, writes The Bangkok Post. Senior executive vice-president Sujin Koadsarp was quoted as saying that the forecast anticipated heavy competition in 2009, which would force TOT to launch more marketing campaigns. He said that TOT generated THB2.9 billion (USD83.5 million) from the broadband business in the first nine months of this year, representing an average 4.4% monthly growth rate. To encourage broadband take-up TOT has recently introduced a bundled package priced at THB590 a month, which offers a 1Mbps broadband connection, free calls worth THB300 on TOT fixed phone numbers, a free dual-port modem worth THB1,350, and a waiver of the THB1,000 registration fee.
