PTK privatisation to go ahead

29 Oct 2008

EMportal reports that the Kosovan government has decided to privatise Kosovo Post and Telecom (PTK) and its mobile subsidiary Vala, estimating the company to be worth around EUR700-EUR800 million. According to the report, an inter-ministerial commission will now be formed to select an international consulting company which will suggest how to best involve the private sector. The EU Special Representative (EUSR) to Kosovo Pieter Feith welcomed the news, after earlier criticising the government for failing to make progress on the privatisation of public companies.
