PTCL and Telenor Pakistan sign satellite communications deal

Trading Markets is reporting that Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has inked a deal with Telenor Pakistan for provision of its Skylink brand Satellite communication services, to enable backhaul of GSM traffic from Telenor Pakistan sites located in rural and remote areas to a PTCL hub station located near Islamabad. Jamshed Masood, Executive Vice President (Carrier Services) for PTCL, commented that the deal was part of the company’s aggressive strategy in expanding its portfolio of services in the carrier and wholesale sectors.
