Portugal Telecom (PT) subsidiary TMN has upgraded its MEO mobile TV service using the Mobile Series video encoding platform from Envivio. The MEO Mobile service, which was launched in mid-2006, now offers 37 channels of content including 23 live channels and 14 playlist channels. Vera Pinto Pereira, head of marketing at PT, said: ‘This new solution from Envivio has improved the viewing experience for our users by delivering better video quality and higher service reliability. We are confident that our investment in the upgrade of our encoding platform will pay back very quickly through higher levels of service adoption and customer retention.’
