The Portuguese telco Sonaecom has contracted Ericsson to provide an end-to-end IPTV solution, including IMS-based IPTV middleware. Financial terms were not revealed. The Portuguese telecoms regulator Anacom has revealed that at the end of June there were 2.1 million homes taking subscription TV services. 70% of these are connected via cable TV networks, with 24.5% via DTH and 5.5% via other technologies.
