Nigeria’s ZOOM Mobile has revealed that it is targeting a subscriber base of ten million by 2011. The company, formerly Reltel Wireless and a provider of fixed wireless access services, took on its current moniker on 27 July and is deploying fully mobile services over a cellular network. Executive vice chairman, Ken Aigbinode, stated that the company’s concession stipulates that it also sells handsets, and not just SIM cards, otherwise its projected growth rate could have been even faster.
