TeliaSonera launches subscription service for computer games

11 Sep 2008

TeliaSonera has announced the launch of Telia Game Subscription, a service which allows users to download games to their computers from Telia’s gaming portal and play as much as they want for a fixed monthly fee. With Telia Game Subscription, customers have access to around 300 games ranging from Ghost Recon: Desert Siege, Colin McRae Rally, Prince of Persia and Age of Empires II to arcade games like Moomintroll and Pacman. New games will be added to the catalogue selection every month. ‘We believe that our new subscription service will be a hit with anyone interested in computer games. For example, families with children can benefit enormously since they potentially could spend a lot of money buying computer games. A subscription service would allow everyone in the family to play their favourite games and easily test new games – without it costing a fortune and at any time during the day,’ said Erik Hallberg, Head of Broadband Services at TeliaSonera. Telia Game Subscription will initially come in two flavours: Telia Game Subscription Family, which includes more than 100 games, will cost SEK99 (USD14.7) per month, while Telia Game Subscription Premium, which includes 200 games, is SEK189.
