The managing director of Nitel, Kevin Caruso, has stated that the beleaguered operator will return to competitive reckoning within the next four months, reports local newspaper Business Day. Caruso, addressing the Nigerian press for the first time since his appointment, said the company was focusing on improving its switching, transmission, billing and power infrastructure. ‘We have studied the network extensively. We know what needs to be fixed. And it is not just a matter of fixing it but sustaining the tempo,’ he said, before adding: ‘We have identified the black spots on the network, in the switches, in the transmission and in the billing. Within three to four months, we will get the network running.’
