Statistics released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) reveal that the country was home to 53.3 million active lines at the end of June 2008. According to AllAfrica.com, Ndukwe stated that none of the operators was doing well in this regard, and it was a situation that was no longer acceptable to the NCC.
