Telecomunicacoes de Mocambique (TDM) is negotiating USD25 million in additional funding to help it expand its networks to more rural areas. The firm says its fixed line network covers 82 districts and it expects to achieve nationwide coverage by 2010, local newspaper Noticias reports. TDM says it will also extend its optical fibre networks to three new provincial capitals – Tete, Pemba and Lichinga – by the first quarter of 2009.
