Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has reported that its consolidated group net profit in the three months ended 30 June 2008 rose by 168% year-on-year to LKR1.5 billion (USD14 million), up from LKR560 million in the corresponding quarter of 2007, on revenues that climbed 21% to LKR11.8 billion. The incumbent telco’s wholly owned cellular subsidiary Mobitel accounted for approximately one third of net income.
