The Serbian government plans to launch an IPO for incumbent fixed line telco Telekom Srbija in the first quarter of 2009, according to the country’s Finance Minister. The minister added that the operator’s current market value is estimated at EUR4 billion. Greek telco OTE currently has a 20% stake in Telekom Srbija, with the rest owned by the government. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, the plan is for up to a 14% stake to be sold on the local stock exchange.
