Digitel (Sun Cellular) selects Ceragon for IP wireless backhaul migration

10 Jul 2008

Filipino mobile operator Digitel Mobile Philippines, which trades under the brand name Sun Cellular, has selected Ceragon Networks to supply it with a wireless backhaul solution based on its IP-based FibeAir products. The USD3.5 million contract follows a number of deployments carried out by Ceragon for Digitel in recent years. The installation of Ceragon’s FibeAir solution will allow the cellco to upgrade its networks to provide 3G data and multimedia services based on IP technology. In a statement Ceragon said that as part of the process of deploying new 3G base-stations, Digitel is migrating its backhaul network to IP using its Native2 FibeAir platform.
