BSkyB experimenting on broadband lines

A report in the Mail On Sunday suggests that BSkyB is currently running tests using fibre cables connected directly to kerbside boxes, aiming to provide higher access speeds. Estimates suggest that if the tests are successful speeds of approximately 50Mbps could be achieved. BSkyB has played down the tests, suggesting they were only ‘a technical study with no commercial involvement’.
