WiMAX consultancy comments deadline Wednesday

7 Jul 2008

Bangladeshi telecoms regulator the BTRC is running a public consultation on draft licensing guidelines for establishing, operating and maintaining broadband wireless access (BWA) services, including WiMAX-based networks. The watchdog is seeking views from industry players and other interested parties on issues discussed in a draft document (http://www.btrc.gov.bd/newsandevents/bwa_guideline.pdf), with a published date of 26 June 2008. With an aim of ensuring proper competition among BWA licensees, the BTRC will issue three nationwide licences, in the 2.3GHz (two licences) and 2.5GHz (one licence) spectrum bands. The last day for submitting comments on the draft guidelines is 9 July 2008 (via web link http://www.btrc.gov.bd/newsandevents/bwa_guideline.php).
