mCel to invest USD70 million on network improvements

In preparation for its awaited 3G rollout, Mozambican cellco mCel is to invest approximately USD70 million on network infrastructure to expand its geographical coverage and improve the quality of service for existing customers. The company plans to build out 110 new base stations in areas already covered by its network, and 200 in total, by the end of this year. The company plans to cover 100% of the country by the end of 2009.
