MVNO Lycamobile launches over Orange’s network

International pre-paid MVNO Lycamobile has announced the launch of operations in Switzerland, adding to its businesses in The Netherlands, Belgium, Norway, Denmark and Sweden. Operating over the Orange Swizerland network, Lycamobile will specialise in offering low-cost international voice calls and SMS, a market which has seen it acquire over a million customers across its six markets. Lycamobile SIMs and top-up vouchers will be available across a broad spectrum of retail outlets across Switzerland. With eight further launches planned in 2008, including in Germany, Spain and Italy, Lycamobile claims to be on track to achieve its goal of becoming the market leading global pre-paid MVNO with seven million subscribers by 2011.
