Eight express interest in GSM licence

Bulgarian daily newspaper Dnevnik is reporting that there are now eight companies which have expressed an official interest in the purchase of the fourth wireless mobile operator licence. Bulgarian WiMAX operator TransTelecom, telecom equipment and service vendor Mobile World, Turkish company Turkcell, Cosmo Bulgaria Mobile and Palladium Capital all obtained the purchase pack three days before the deadline, while Max Telecom, Telco and M-Sat bought the documents on the last day. The auction is set to take place on 29 July, with the starting price set at BGL38 million (USD30.6 million). The 20-year licence comprises 2×5MHz of frequencies in the 1800MHz range.
