Broadband tender delayed

4 Jun 2008

A source at the Peruvian state agency for promoting private investment, ProInversion, has told BNamericas that the tender to install, operate and maintain broadband internet services in 1,050 rural communities in Peru has been delayed due to technical reasons. The prequalified operators in the process are Gilat To Home Peru, Rural Telecom, Telefonica Peru, consortium Trebol Informatica e Itaca Canarias del Peru, consortium Ameritel-Cime-Valtron, and E America. ‘The process has been postponed until the second or third week of June,’ the source said. ProInversion is awaiting a report from the comptroller’s office.
