WiMAX in the Pipeline

8 Apr 2008

Boston-based wireless broadband operator Pipeline Wireless says it has been granted a national licence to offer WiMAX services in the 3.65GHz band. The firm currently uses pre-WiMAX technology to offer wireless broadband services to business users across 2,100 square miles of eastern Massachusetts. It expects its networks to receive full WiMAX Forum certification within the next two months. ‘As a leading wireless network provider, Pipeline Wireless will be able to broaden our service offerings and our customers will reap the benefits of utilising WiMAX technology,’ said Michael Daly, President and CEO of Pipeline Wireless. Its plans for a rollout beyond its existing coverage area have not been disclosed.
