Telekom uses Iskratel/Telsima for national WiMAX rollout

18 Mar 2008

Telsima, a provider of WiMAX systems, reports in a statement that its technologies have been integrated with those of fellow vendor Iskratel to serve as the main WiMAX infrastructure platform for Telekom Slovenije’s planned nationwide wireless broadband network. The Slovenian incumbent owns the rights to a 42MHz block of WiMAX frequencies in the 3.5GHz band, covering a potential customer base of two million people. Iskratel has integrated Telsima’s products into its SI3000 Access Plane product range, and the solution is ready for migration to ‘mobile WiMAX’ 802.16e-2005 standard, according to a press release.
