T-Mobile mulls plans to allow MVNOs on its network

11 Mar 2008

T-Mobile International’s Czech unit is considering plans to allow mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) on its network in what would be a first for the country. According to Thomson Financial quoting the daily newspaper E15, T-Mobile is discussing ‘an internal strategy for access for virtual operators’. Until now, none of the nation’s three incumbent cellular operators, Telefonica O2 CR, T-Mobile and Vodafone, have concluded network access deals with a would-be virtual operator, even though up to a dozen firms are reported to be keen to lease capacity to offer mobile services over the operators’ networks.
