Claro launches Honduran 3G service

America Movil (AM’s) Honduran unit Sercom de Honduras (Claro) yesterday launched a 3G service in Honduras with national coverage, reports BNamericas citing a company statement. Honduras is the second Central American country in which the Mexican firm has introduced a UMTS service this year: El Salvador inaugurated a 3G service on 31 January making it the ninth operator in the AM stable to provide high speed mobile services. The latest offering, launched in partnership with Ericsson of Sweden, is promising data transfer speeds of above 512kbps.
