8 Feb 2008

Peru is expected to end 2011 with 15% wireline teledensity and 80% mobile penetration, writes BNamericas citing the country’s transport and communications ministry (MTC). A year ago the MTC had forecasted penetration figures of 12% and 60% respectively; the ministry now believes these targets will be achieved in 2009. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms, Peru ended 2007 with a fixed line teledensity of 9.6% and mobile penetration of 55%.
