The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) has agreed to loan USD225 million to Costa Rican state-owned telecoms monopoly ICE for the rollout of a 3G network, reports BNamericas citing an ICE statement. ICE plans to install a network with capacity for 1.5 million 3G lines, with commercial launch set for 2009. ICE and CABEI are due to sign the financing contract that will then be sent to the Comptroller General for approval.
