700MHz auction, round twelve: bidding passes USD8.6 billion

At the close of the twelfth round of bidding, the total of provisional winning bids in the US government’s 700MHz spectrum auction has reached USD8.66 billion. The block of frequencies receiving the most attention is Block C, which offers eight individual licences which between them cover all 50 states; bidding reached USD3.78 billion for that block alone by the end of round twelve.
