The Dutch cableco CAIW has been bought by the investment group Bouwfonds Investment Management for EUR110 million (USD161 million). At last count, CAIW had 150,000 basic TV customers signed up to its network as well as 70,000 broadband users and 22,000 voice telephony customers; it also provides a digital TV service on its REKAM network covering 100,000 homes. In recent years it has expanded through the acquisition of a number of very small city-wide networks. The operator was previously owned by the municipalities of Westland and Midden-Delfland.
