DTAC forecasts 10% revenue rise in 2008

DTAC, Thailand’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers revealed yesterday that it expected 2008 revenues to rise at the industry rate of more than 10%. CEO Sigve Brekke told reports that the cellco expected to win 35% of the expected seven to nine million new subscribers in the country this year. Twelve analysts polled by Reuters expected DTAC’s 2008 revenues to rise 11.6% to THB74.1 billion (USD2.4 billion) from a 2007 forecast of THB66.4 billion. The company is due to announce its 2007 results next month.
